I’m going to get to work now … but if you need anything please don’t hesitate to contact me. I typically use my iPhone as a hotspot to use my iPad and since I didn’t have a hotspot I had zero service all weekend (when it rains it pours)! My day will be spent getting my new phone set up and getting caught up on email. Had I been sitting two foot forward my phone would have landed on the dock float. How could it fit through a 1/2 slit without hitting the wood? He did his best to try to get it but the dock sets on a float and there’s all kinds of wires and such. Dave happened to be looking a the very moment it happened and said did that just happen? I was in total shock.
I’m not sure why I shifted in my chair but I did and my phone slid right off and never hit the deck … it fell right through a crack in the deck.
When we arrived back on the dock I sat my phone on my chair because I was going to take some pictures (or check my texts…. How this happened is still mind boggling … we had been on the lake all day and my phone stayed in my bag. I’m ordering a floating iPhone case today. And, it’s only waterproof for a short distance … meaning it will not survive a 12 foot drop in the lake. Does that means to keep it syncing I need to open the app? Maybe someone will have the answer to that one.Įven though the iPhone is waterproof … it does not float. I thought it ran in the background but I guess I was wrong. And the reason is … I did not keep the app open.
Except, it only downloaded up to September of 2018. I thought to myself, now I have all my pictures in two locations. In April I was helping Dave gets his data off a company phone to his personal phone and we used Google Photos to save all his pics. I will make sure iCloud back up is turned on today!! (And, all my On Stage photos are gone as well). That means I lost all my photos, videos and notes from Mid Feb thru last Friday. I typically back up my iPhone before every trip …but because I thought we had turned on iCloud backup I had not backed it up to my computer since February. I did not receive it and please text me or call me again.
This is going to be wordy …but I know for sure it will help someone.īefore I share the story … please make note that if you texted me or called me …. I’m going to share them with you so that hopefully I can save someone from what I’m going through. And can you believe I dropped my phone in the lake? Yes, I freaked out and cried and learned multiple lessons. I don’t have a crafty project for you today because we went to the lake for Memorial Day. It’s been a few days since I posted on my blog so I wanted to check in and say hi.
